French National Show Champion
The Champion des Expositions Nationales (CHNE) is a French national show championship awarded by the Société Centrale Canine (SCC). The title is built on the CACS won at French shows, and it is only homologated once the SCC's identification and eligibility conditions are met.
Alongside the show results, a dog has to satisfy a number of prerequisites before the SCC will confirm the title. Some of these are set directly by the SCC, while others are left to the breed club.

The award that counts
The CACS awarded at shows in France is the qualification that leads toward the CHNE. It is the French national award recognised by the SCC for this title.
Identification and eligibility
Before the SCC homologates the title, the dog must be DNA-identified in the SCC database.
A TAN is also listed as a condition for the CHNE. The exact form this takes is set by the breed club.
Dogs owned by residents of France additionally need to have passed confirmation.
Breed-club requirements
Breed clubs can add their own conditions on top of the SCC rules. Depending on the breed and the year, these may cover health, behaviour or, for working breeds, working ability.
Because these requirements differ from one breed club to another, check with the club responsible for your breed for the conditions that apply in your case.
