Danish Beauty Champion
The Danish Beauty Champion (DKCH) is a championship title awarded by the Danish Kennel Club (DKK) on the basis of show results, with the CAC as the relevant show award. For a number of breeds the title carries additional requirements beyond the show ring, and these vary by FCI breed group.
What's required?
Any one of the routes below qualifies:
Route 1
- ✓ 3× CAC in Denmark op DKK-erkende show, under at least 3 different judges
Route 2
- ✓ 1× CAC in Denmark op DKK-erkende show
- ✓ The dog must hold an external (foreign or national) title. Confirm manually. (manual check required)
Notes
- • Sommige rassen hebben aanvullende DKCH-eisen (werkproef, HD-status, ras-specifieke certificaten). Deze verschillen per FCI-rasgroep en staan beschreven in DKK Show Regulations 2026 groep 1-10 secties. Controleer handmatig welke eisen voor jouw ras gelden.
The DKCH title in outline
DKCH is DKK's beauty champion title, earned through conformation results in which the CAC is the qualifying award.
Beyond the general show component, several breeds have extra conditions set out in the DKK Show Regulations 2026. These can include a working trial, a hip dysplasia (HD) status, or breed-specific certificates. Because the exact requirements differ per FCI group, you need to check which ones apply to your breed in the relevant group section of the regulations.
Breeds with a show-only route
A show-only variant of the champion title, DKCH(U), is available for a subset of group 8 breeds, specifically retrievers and spaniels. This variant does not require a work trial.
Foreign-owned dogs and equivalent qualifications
For foreign-owned dogs, any trial and HD requirements must be met through equivalent qualifications. The relevant breed club assesses whether a foreign qualification is equivalent.
Where a breed club will not assess equivalence, an FCI Working Class Certificate is accepted as supporting documentation.
Frequently asked questions
Are the requirements the same for every breed?
No. Alongside the general show component, individual breeds may have additional conditions such as a working trial, an HD status, or breed-specific certificates. These are described per FCI group in the DKK Show Regulations 2026, so you should verify what applies to your breed.
Can retrievers and spaniels become champions without a working trial?
For a subset of group 8 breeds, retrievers and spaniels, the DKCH(U) title is available as a show-only champion title that does not require a work trial.
How are foreign qualifications handled for a foreign-owned dog?
Foreign-owned dogs must satisfy equivalent trial and HD requirements, with the breed club assessing equivalence. If the breed club will not assess it, an FCI Working Class Certificate can be submitted instead.
