Danish Show Champion (without work requirement)
The Danish Show Champion without work requirement, written DKCH(U), is a DKK show title reserved for a subset of Group 8 breeds, namely retrievers and spaniels. For these breeds the title is awarded on show results alone, so the work trial that normally applies to the standard DKCH is not required.
What's required?
Any one of the routes below qualifies:
Route 1
- ✓ 3× CAC in Denmark op DKK-erkende show, under at least 3 different judges
Route 2
- ✓ 1× CAC in Denmark op DKK-erkende show
- ✓ The dog must hold an external (foreign or national) title. Confirm manually. (manual check required)
Notes
- • Show-only title: waives the working test requirement that DKCH carries for these breeds.
- • Interim rule: dogs that already held all required certificates before the cut-off must still earn a CK (Champion Quality) at a DKK-recognised show to be awarded DKCH(U).
- • Source: DKK Show Regulations 2026 (Group 8 section, p.60).

A show-only champion title
DKCH(U) exists specifically for eligible retrievers and spaniels within Group 8. It follows the same idea as the ordinary Danish Show Champion but drops the work proof that those breeds otherwise need.
Which breeds qualify and which cut-off date applies to the final certificate is set per breed in the Group 8 section of the DKK Show Regulations. Because of this, eligibility is confirmed manually rather than assumed for every Group 8 entrant.
Interim rule for dogs already qualified
An interim arrangement applies to dogs that had already gained all required certificates before the relevant cut-off date. These dogs still need one more CK (Champion Quality award) at a DKK-recognised show before DKCH(U) can be granted.
Frequently asked questions
Does DKCH(U) require a work trial?
No. For the eligible retriever and spaniel breeds, DKCH(U) is a show-only title and the work trial that applies to the standard DKCH is not required.
Which breeds can earn DKCH(U)?
Only a specific set of Group 8 breeds, the retrievers and spaniels named in the Group 8 section of the DKK Show Regulations 2026. Eligibility and the applicable cut-off date are checked per breed.
