German Veteran Champion (VDH)
The Deutscher Veteranen-Champion (VDH) is awarded to veteran dogs that collect three VDH-Veteranen-Anwartschaften at shows held in Germany under VDH or DRC. The Veteranen-Anwartschaft is the Veteran-CAC(VDH) recorded on judging reports; both wordings refer to the same award and count equally toward the title.
What's required?
- ✓ 3× VDH-Veteranen-Anwartschaft / CAC VET in Germany in de veteranenklasse/veteranenklas op CAC-show/CACIB-show/nationale show/rasspeciaal (VDH/DRC), waarvan minimaal 2 op CACIB-show/nationale show, under at least 2 different judges

- • 3 Reserve-Anwartschaften op verschillende shows per bucket (IDS/NAT óf SRA, niet gemengd) tellen samen als 1× VDH-Veteranen-Anwartschaft — automatisch toegepast.
Earning the title
You need three VDH-Veteranen-Anwartschaften, won in the veteran class at shows organised by the VDH or the DRC in Germany. Eligible events are CAC shows, CACIB shows, national shows and specialty shows.
The three results must come from at least two different judges, so a single judge cannot award all of them.
At least two of the three awards have to be gained at a CACIB show or a national show. The remaining result may come from any of the eligible show types.
Minimum age
The dog must be at least 96 months old, meaning eight years, to compete for these awards in the veteran class.
When a Reserve result counts
A VDH-Veteranen-Reserve-Anwartschaft can be upgraded to a full Veteranen-Anwartschaft when the winner ahead of you already holds the title.
Under VDH-DfB §3, three Veteranen-Reserve awards within the same group of show types are upgraded to one Veteranen-Anwartschaft of that same group. There are two separate groups: CACIB shows together with national shows on one side, and specialty shows on the other. Reserve results from different groups cannot be combined for this upgrade.
