FCI International Race Champion

CIC Fédération Cynologique Internationale Main title

The FCI International Race Champion (CIC) is awarded by the FCI to sighthound breeds in FCI Group 10. The title is built on results earned in international racing competition, confirmed by a set number of CACIL and RCACIL awards gained under specific conditions.

What's required?

  • ✓ Specific combination of awards required. Confirm manually. (manual check required)
  • ✓ This rule must be confirmed manually. (manual check required)

Award combinations that qualify

There are two accepted routes to the title. A dog can earn three CACIL awards, or it can combine two CACIL awards with two RCACIL awards.

The CACIL is the international qualifying award for the championship; the RCACIL is the reserve to it. Either full combination is sufficient on its own.

Where and when the awards must be gained

The qualifying awards cannot all come from a single country. They must be spread across at least two different countries.

There also has to be enough time between them. At least 366 days must separate the first and the last qualifying award, so the required results are gathered over more than a year rather than in a short run of events.

Age and grading

A dog must be at least 15 months old to count toward the title, and each qualifying result requires a grading of at least Very Good.

Eligible breeds

The title applies to breeds in FCI Group 10, the sighthounds.

Frequently asked questions

Can I complete the title with results from one country?

No. The qualifying awards must be earned in at least two different countries.

Do RCACIL awards on their own count toward the title?

Not by themselves. RCACIL awards only qualify as part of the combination of two CACIL and two RCACIL awards. The alternative route is three CACIL awards.

Is there a minimum time span for gathering the awards?

Yes. At least 366 days must fall between your first and last qualifying award.
