FCI International Working Champion

CIT Fédération Cynologique Internationale Working / hunting

The FCI International Working Champion is awarded to dogs that have proven themselves in working trials. Eligibility depends on the FCI group: the title is open to breeds in groups 1, 2, 3, 6, 7 and 8, with the exact certificate requirements set according to the group.

What's required?

Any one of the routes below qualifies:

Route 1

  • ✓ 2× CACIT, under at least 2 different judges
  • ✓ This rule must be confirmed manually. (manual check required)

Route 2

  • ✓ 2× CACIT / RCACIT, under at least 2 different judges, in at least 2 different countries
  • ✓ This rule must be confirmed manually. (manual check required)

Two routes to the title

The requirements differ by group. Breeds from the hunting groups (6, 7 and 8) and breeds from groups 1, 2 and 3 each follow their own set of conditions, but both routes lead to the same title.

In all cases a dog needs two certificates earned at working trials, awarded by more than one judge.

Certificates needed per group

For breeds in groups 6, 7 and 8, the dog must obtain two CACIT certificates. Each CACIT must be linked to a first prize, and the two certificates must be awarded by at least two different judges.

For breeds in groups 1, 2 and 3, the dog must obtain two certificates that may be either CACIT or RCACIT (the reserve certificate). Here the two certificates must be gained under at least two different judges and in at least two different countries.

Age and qualification

Regardless of the group, the dog must be at least 15 months old and must have obtained a qualification of at least Very Good.

Frequently asked questions

Does the country requirement apply to hunting groups 6, 7 and 8?

No. For groups 6, 7 and 8 the two CACIT certificates must come from at least two different judges and each must be linked to a first prize, but there is no requirement to compete in more than one country. The two-country condition applies only to groups 1, 2 and 3.

Can a Reserve CACIT count towards the title?

Only for breeds in groups 1, 2 and 3, where a certificate may be either a CACIT or an RCACIT. For groups 6, 7 and 8 both certificates must be full CACITs.
