International Veteran Champion (CIB-V)

CIB_V Raad van Beheer (NL) Internationaal Veteran

The International Veteran Champion title (CIB-V) is awarded by the Raad van Beheer to veteran dogs that have proven themselves under international judging. To qualify, a dog must earn three CACIB-V awards in the veteran class. The title is only open to breeds that are eligible for the CACIB.

What's required?

  • ✓ 3× CACIB-V in de veteranenklasse, under at least 3 different judges, in at least 3 different countries

The three CACIB-V awards

The title is built on three CACIB-V results, each gained in the veteran class.

These three awards may not all come from the same event or judging. They must be won in at least three different countries and under at least three different judges, so the result reflects broad international recognition rather than a single strong showing.

Minimum age

A dog must be at least 96 months old, that is eight years, on the day of the show for a CACIB-V to count towards this title.

Earlier transitional route

Until 31 December 2022 the title could also be reached through placements instead of CACIB-V awards. In that route a dog needed three first places in the veteran class with the qualification Excellent (Uitmuntend). This option no longer applies to results earned after that date.

Frequently asked questions

Only breeds that are eligible for the CACIB can compete for this title. If the CACIB is not awarded for your breed, the CIB-V route is not open to it.

Can I win all three CACIB-V awards in the same country?

No. The three awards must come from at least three different countries and be given by at least three different judges.
